RESTON, VIRGINIA – November 16, 2009 – Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the federal government, announced today that the company has been awarded a task order on the existing HR Solutions ID/IQ contract with the U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM), Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command (FMWRC). Serco will assist Soldiers and their Families who are geographically dispersed in making connections with services and support programs. The task order has a one year period and is valued at approximately $17 million.
Under the task order, Serco will continue its work with FMWRC to support Soldiers through the Army OneSource (AOS) initiative. AOS was first implemented in 2005 as a pilot program called Multi-Component Family Support Network. The Army officially rolled out AOS in the fall of 2008 with the support of Serco to help Regular Army, National Guard and Army Reserve Soldiers and Families receive information and resources in the areas of Information & Referral, Money Matters, Home & Family Life, Managing Deployment, Getting Involved, Child Care, Youth Services, School Transition Services, Wounded Warrior Program and Survivor Outreach Services, Army Basics, Employer Support for the Guard and Reserves, Medical/TRICARE, Legal, and Continuity of Benefits.
With Soldiers located across the United States and around the world, Serco employs regionally-dispersed Community Support Coordinators (CSC) to introduce AOS and its resources to Soldiers and Family members regardless of component or geographic location. Serco also supports the AOS initiative by connecting Soldiers and Families via face-to-face support, telephonic support or through the AOS website. All three avenues of communication were developed to make sure Army Families, no matter where they are located, can receive immediate access to information at critical stages of their career.
“We are extremely proud to have the opportunity to continue supporting the Army OneSource program,” said George Anastasi, Senior Vice President of the Defense Personnel Services Group at Serco Inc. “It has been a great opportunity to work with the Army since the inception of this work and see the project grow as more and more Army Families take advantage of these vital resources.”
