VIENNA, VA (September 4, 2007) - Serco Inc. today announced that Louis M. Addeo, former President of AT&T Government Solutions, has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO), responsible for overseeing the company's human capital management, logistics/engineering, transportation, and program management businesses. Addeo comes to Serco with more than 30 years of experience with AT&T in IT services, homeland security, and federal contracting.
Addeo was president of AT&T Government Solutions from 2003 until 2006 and led a growth program that generated more than $1 billion in contract pipeline and revenue of more than $1.6 billion, including major contract wins at civilian, defense, and intelligence agencies such as the FTC Do Not Call Registry, IRS Enterprise Remote Access Project, Department of Justice WAN and Web Hosting, Department of Agriculture WAN, and Federal Reserve Board Enhanced VPN.
In addition to being named to lists of top government contractors, Addeo’s business unit was awarded the distinguished "Industry Partner Excellence Award" from GSA for outstanding service to federal agencies worldwide.
Prior to AT&T Government Solutions, as Vice President of AT&T's National Information Systems, Addeo directed a broad offering of professional services, managed services, and in-depth intelligence capabilities to federal agencies and departments including the White House, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the intelligence agencies.
Most recently, Addeo has been Managing Director of Aptus Management & Consulting, advising early-stage businesses on business development, growth strategies, financing, mergers and acquisitions, and divestment.
Addeo has served on the board of the USO, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and on the Executive Committee of the Security Affairs Support Association. He was also one of 14 panel members of the Acquisition Advisory Panel charged with detailed review of Government Wide Contracting practices.
"Lou is an outstanding addition to the Serco leadership team," said Ed Casey, Chairman and CEO of Serco Inc. "His approach and commitment to service fit well with our operating philosophy, and his knowledge of the sector and customer needs enhances our ability to tailor high-value solutions for our growing list of customers."
Addeo is the latest senior executive to join Serco Inc in the last year, following the appointment of Michele DiCintio as General Counsel and Louis Montgomery as Vice President of Human Resources. The company has also expanded its business development and IT groups.
Serco has been awarded several major federal contracts over the last year, including LOGCAP IV, SpecTech, and NESS II port security contracts, U.S. Postal Service Engineering, and numerous contracts in military family support services and recruiting.
