Serco Awarded $18.5M Navigation Sensor System Interface Contract

Serco’s engineering integration and testing services ensure accurate data delivery to weapons systems, combat support systems and C4ISR systems.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, California (SSC SD) awarded Serco Inc. an $18.5 million multiple award contract to provide equipment and engineering support services to enable the Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI) to provide accurate, real-time navigation information to ship-board weapons systems and combat support systems aboard US Navy combatants. The contract combines purchases for the US Navy and the governments of Australia and Spain under the Foreign Military Sales Program. “This contract spotlights our ability to provide best-in-class engineering solutions that ensure accurate data delivery so that sound decisions can be made,” said Kent Brown, Serco’s Vice President of the Engineering Business Unit. Serco will perform the engineering support services in San Diego and Chula Vista, California. The work is expected to be completed in 2013 if all five ordering options are exercised.
