LMI is a not-for-profit government consulting firm with deep institutional knowledge of logistics and long-standing relationships across the federal government. LMI draws from a large talent pool in every major functional area of logistics management. Logistics, Acquisition, Information Technology, Facilities and Asset Management, Financial Management, and Organizations and Human Capital are our core capabilities. LMI is ISO 9001-certified. LMI possesses technical capability to provide acquisition logistics support services. We develop, evaluate, and provide training in performance-based logistics support strategies, ranging from traditional, organic support to contractor logistics support. We carry out business case analyses of alternative logistics strategies and develop project management plans. We conduct logistics modeling and analysis, using tools such as the Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR) and “ithink,” to facilitate robust quantitative assessments. We perform operations and support cost analysis, including the development of cost estimating relationships and program documentation (e.g., cost analysis requirements documents).

We routinely analyze logistics data contained in DoD data systems, such as the Navy’s Logistics Management Support System (LMDSS) and Aircraft Engine Management System (AEMS). LMI developed the Aircraft Availability Model (AAM) and the Aircraft Sustainability Model (ASM) for the Air Force by LMI to relate expenditures for spares to the resulting aircraft materiel readiness and wartime sustainability. LMI is pioneering readiness-based integration of logistics support between the Air Force and DLA using the Customer-Oriented Leveling Technique (COLT) program. LMI supports the functional development and maintenance of wholesale and retail USAF supply systems, including the evolving move to COTS-based ERP systems. Potential tasks could include analysis and assessment of evolving maintenance concepts; development and evaluation of performance based logistics alternatives; modeling, acquisition support, supply policy and operations, particularly Readiness Based Sparing (RBS).

Lockheed Martin is the leading provider of information technology to the federal government--and has been for the past ten years. By bringing together the talents and expertise from across the corporation, we are providing our customers with advanced technology services and solutions that are unmatched in industry, innovation, and performance.
